The Transportation Safety Administration Takes Another Round Of Criticism For Stopping Marine Amputee

Thousands Standing Around?

The Transportation Safety Administration (TSA) came under fire again recently for their stopping of a wounded marine. The marine, who had both of his legs blown off by an IED while deployed on active duty, was forced to remove his prosthetic legs and stand away from his wheel chair while they searched it.

My Crush On In-N-Out Burger Has Ended

My Crush On In-N-Out Burger Has Ended

I can see through the hype now!

Until last night, In-N-Out Burger was some kind of fast food royalty. When I brought it up in conversation, ears would perk up and interjections would begin with “oh, In-N-Out Burger? Yeah, that place is the best!” Living in Colorado, we had no access to its royalty, but it became a last-mile goal when we left Los Angeles while filming our E3 documentary. I had some double doubles and I thought it was fine, but I was also coming down with a pretty ferocious illness at the time and my nasal cavity was still full of smoke from the night before’s first-ever cigar, so maybe my results were warped. Things changed, though.

The Problem With Kickstarters And Why It Is Pissing Me Off

The Problem With Kickstarters And Why It Is Pissing Me Off

GIMME DA CAAAASSSSSH!

All right guys, this Kickstarter shit is getting completely out of hand. I can understand the campaigns for things that would be hard to fund, like the upcoming space-sim Star Citizen/Squadron 42. That would have been difficult because when you accept publisher support, you have to do things on their timeline and Chris Roberts seems unwilling to release a game before it’s done. That’s why most games suck so hard these days.

What I can’t understand is why people are going out and starting Kickstarters for absolutely ridiculous shit.

Does The Twinkie Really Need To Come Back?

Does The Twinkie Really Need To Come Back?

They’re so… delicious?

When Hostess announced last year that they had no option but to enter bankruptcy and liquidate the company, people rushed groceries stores everywhere to gobble up a slice of Americana that was quickly slipping away. Do you know what I’ve missed in the time since those Hostess cakes disappeared off store shelves? Not Twinkies, not Ho-Hos, not Donettes, nor any Dolly Madison product. Not because the competition hasn’t already been in place for years making arguably better product, but because maybe we should keep them retired. Read the rest of this article…

Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Tacos Review: Best In Breed

Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Tacos Review: Best In Breed

You didn’t think a new flavor would come? IT CAME.

Because I am a food critic, I decided that not only would I rate the original Nacho Cheesier Doritos Locos Tacos, but I’d take it upon myself to inform my world, through my sophisticated sense of taste, how its newer Cool Ranch variant fares. In my original DLT review, I pined for more flavors, of which there are many in the Doritos universe, but they picked the best flavor to follow up with, perhaps because of unit sales more than anything.

Safeway Home Delivery Review: What Was Life Like Before Grocers Came To You?

Safeway Home Delivery Review: What Was Life Like Before Grocers Came To You?

It’s like ordering pizza online, but with all kinds of food!

Before I moved out to Phoenix, Rob – and later, Kelly – kept yammering about how Safeway delivered groceries out here, to your home. It seems somewhat paradoxical that as a fat kid, I actually kinda enjoy walking through many of the aisles and seeing what I want specifically. Maybe I want something special here and there. But that’s also where the trouble lies: if I’m walking around that store, with aisles full of things I want, I’m going to want it all.

Getting Fired From Best Buy For Posting Pictures On The Internet: A Long, Cautionary Tale

Getting Fired From Best Buy For Posting Pictures On The Internet: A Long, Cautionary Tale

What seems like an innocuous snap, tweet, or comment can become very severe when exposed to a corporate legal department.

Look at your social feeds: Facebook, Twitter, Path, whatever rows your boat. Find your friends. Look for when they talk about a bad experience they had on the job, like a customer that put them in a torrid mood or a manager who won’t stop doing that one irritating thing. Look for a picture of a cube-mate smiling while delicate company info hangs blurry in the background. All of these individual things may seem pretty harmless, but it wouldn’t take long for someone you know – or simply someone who has access to your comments and pictures – to build a case of insubordination against you, one that will be nearly impossible to refute. You can lose your job.

I did.

It’s been nearly a thousand days since my ten-plus year employment with Best Buy was terminated and I’ve gone to many of my friends in the media hoping to bring my story to light, not out of any sort of sense of revenge, obviously my digs are far fancier now, but as a warning to others. Companies pretend that they’re training their employees on how easily their social media policies can be violated, but there’s rarely a reprimand when such a violation occurs; the solution is usually termination. This seems particularly important in an age where we’re sharing information faster and more often than ever before. The events surrounding my own dismissal were incredibly personal and highly embarrassing, but in the end, I had to be the one to tell my story.

We Were Sent a Key, Help Us Solve This Mystery

What does this key go to?

We get some random things at FleshEatingZipper but we have never received something that we couldn’t tell where it came from, until now. This package came in, attention to me for some reason. In the package a white box with a yellow ribbon. In that box a key wrapped in a small brown ribbon. I like mysteries so what could it be? Read the rest of this article…

Oh The Humanity! Yahoo!’s New ‘Work From Home’ Ban Gets Parents All Lumpy

Oh The Humanity! Yahoo!’s New ‘Work From Home’ Ban Gets Parents All Lumpy

Does this look like a face that could disrupt your work/life balance?

We read about innovation coming out of Silicon Valley all the time, but one company that’s been stuck in the mud for years is Dot-Com classic Yahoo!. You’ll recall last year, their board of directors hired Marissa Mayer, the Queen of Google, to turn things around. As a result, they’re doing some pretty radical things, like giving everyone smartphones, changing their entire home page, and in a recent move that’s irked Yahoo employees with kids, as well as other Valley watchdogs, Mayer wants everyone to come to the office to work. That’s right, employees at Yahoo! will have to physically leave their home and go to another place entirely to conduct their work. Wow. What a real abortion of worker’s rights this will be.
