Penny Arcade: The Series – Season 2 Review

Penny Arcade: The Series – Season 2 Review

As you’ve probably already figured out, I’m a pretty big fan of Penny Arcade. One thing that I was always curious about, spurred by Mike and Jerry’s mishaps in their early years, was how a company based around a web comic about games could operate. They’d drop hints from time to time, but for the most part, the thing was a mystery. How did they run PAX with a staff of twelve? What about Child’s Play, their gamer-themed charity benefiting hospitalized children? With the first season of Penny Arcade: The Series, many of those questions were answered. So, what was left over for the second season?

Starring Chris Klein (American Pie) and Brendan Fehr (Roswell) this sleeper from Gold Circle Films and Lionsgate Home Entertainment snuck up and bit me right in the hind parts. Find out why after the jump.

Ya Done Screwed Up, Epic Meal Time

Look, we get it, you guys are maturing. You took your little show about disgusting-ly awesome and unhuman main courses and got really successful. That’s awesome. So you started doing ads. That’s cool, whatever. Gamefly, Squarespace, fine, fine. At the end of the day, we want the videos with the insane amount of food formulated with copious amounts of liquor, not the festering piece of crap you just uploaded as this week’s episode.

Movie Review: Green Lantern

Movie Review: Green Lantern

Yeah, so…I went in to prep for the review of Green Lantern in a state I’ll call “cautiously optimistic”. As I’ve said before, I’m not a reader of comics and I’m still on the fence about the whole super hero movie thing. I am, however, a fan of Ryan Reynolds (even though he doesn’t like video games) because I find him to be a very flexible actor and I appreciate someone who can tackle diverse and disparate roles.

As the opening sequence rolled, I wondered what I’d gotten myself in to and prepared for a long evening.

Ryan Dunn’s “Living Will” Film Makes It Awkward For Everyone

The interwebs have been blasting with news of yet another fatal car crash. This time it happened to everyones favorite Jackass member. Although that’s like saying the skunk spray bean is your favorite BeanBoozled JellyBelly flavor. Regardless, after trolling through youtube for clips to help inspire an article after hours of having writers block, I fell upon a very interesting movie trailer made by the Zach Galifianakis stunt double. Check it out after the break.

My 90’s Crush: Tiffani Thiessen

This week, the FleshEatingZipper staff writes about their crushes from the Bill Clinton, Arsenio Hall, and Gangster’s Paradise-esque 1990′s!

Back then she was credited as Tiffani-Amber Thiessen but I knew her as Kelly Kapowski growing up watching Saved by the Bell. Her character was the girl next door, something every guy wants, and my crushing began. Kelly and Zack Morris seemed like the perfect couple and… hold on this isn’t about Saved by the Bell this is about Tiffani Thiessen. Read the rest of this article…

My 90’s Crush: Julia Roberts

This week, the FleshEatingZipper staff writes about their crushes from the Bill Clinton, Arsenio Hall, and Gangster’s Paradise-esque 1990′s!

Yes, my 90’s crush was Julia Roberts.

What?

Look, don’t hassle me. Before she was a girl standing in front of a boy, or a girl eating and praying and loving, Julia Roberts was the “it” girl thanks to a little movie about a hooker with a heart of gold. And, yes, I had a thing for her.

Besides, it was the 90’s. People were into crazy things back then. Things like Beanie Babies, Pogs, Power Rangers and Tickle Me Freakin’ Elmo dolls.

My 90’s Crush: Misty

This week, the FleshEatingZipper staff writes about their crushes from the Bill Clinton, Arsenio Hall, and Gangster’s Paradise-esque 1990′s!

While most male teenagers were attracted to pop stars, actresses, and other real people, I was busy crushing on the gym leader of Cerulean City: Misty from Pokémon. That’s right, I was infatuated with a cartoon character. And I’m not ashamed.
