Sony Online Entertainment Announces Partnership With MLG

Major League Geeks…I mean, GAMING!

Ok, don’t get me wrong. I have mad love for the MLG, for everything they’re doing for the world of gaming. Major League Gaming is doing more to legitimize gaming and stop the persecution of gamers than just about anything else. The problem, to date, is that they haven’t really played anything that I, or most of the people I know, give a shit about.

Seems that is going to change.

Crytek Acquires Rights to Homefront IP…Interesting.

Hopefully it will be better this time.

So. We all know that THQ is done (Which sucks, because we really liked them). We also know that they had handed development of Homefront 2 over to Crytek last year. Now that THQ has gone tango uniform, though, we have found out that Crytek has acquired the intellectual property rights for Homefront and will be taking over the whole show from here on out.

Trion Worlds + XL Games = Best Asian MMORPG Ever?

It’s pretty…that’s for sure

Well, that’s what the email I got from them is claiming. It seems that Trion Worlds and XLGames have entered into a strategic partnership which will see Trion Worlds bringing the XLGames title “ArcheAge” to Western markets…And they claim it “is poised to be the most polished massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) coming out of Asia.“. The game will be hosted on Trion Worlds’ Red Door platform in North America, Europe, Turkey, Australia and New Zealand.

Elder Scrolls Online Alliances At War – Developer Video

I don’t know what that thing is but BY GOD it’s ugly!

Yesterday, Nick published an article about Elder Scrolls Online preparing for closed beta. In that article, he included the latest cinematic trailer, which shows some really serious and super violent (oh so sexy) shenanigans going on between what turns out to be 3 different factions in the Elder Scrolls universe.

That’s great, but why are they fighting with each other? I have a nice dev video that explains it all.

Leisure Suit Larry On GOG? YEP!

Oh, Larry…You’re such a schmuck.

Leisure Suit Larry has just been announced as the 500th game to be featured on GOG.COM, and that’s hot because Leisure Suit Larry is one of the best adventure game series of all time, from a time before time…A time before all this…

Journalistic Responsibility – Games And Gamers

If it ain’t ethical, STFU!

By now, the word is all over the place regarding the ambush of Rod “Slasher” Breslau by Evil Geniuses members on Inside the Game. (If not, you can find a PC Gamer article about it, including the twitch video, here)

There are a lot of opinions flying around about thow this was handled and what responsibilities journalists have in regards to reporting news. What should be reported, what shouldn’t be reported, what kinds of things we should and shouldn’t tell the public.

Of course, I have an opinion on this…And I’m going to share it.

Warface – A New Free To Play FPS – Enters Closed Beta. Includes New Trailer!

LET ME SEE YOUR WAR FACE…AAAAAAAAAAGGGGGHHHH!

Lately, we’ve been getting hit with a lot of free to play titles. I like this. I wrote a while back about how it seems some of the developers and publishers out there have finally pulled their heads from their hindparts and realized that consumers have been getting charged way too much for games, for a very long time.

It’s not that we don’t want to buy games, it’s that paying $60 plus tax is a little painful.

So when I see that Crytek and Trion Worlds are getting ready to release yet another F2P title into the wild – one that looks really good, no less – I get a warm fuzzy feeling in my black little heart and I just have to talk about it.

Obama Presses Assault Rifle Ban And Now Wants To Investigate Video Games, Too?

Less QQ, Moar Pew Pew!

I’m not usually one to get on a political soap box and spread my personal views about these things to the whole world but in this case, I figure I’d better get this out while I’m still legally able to do so. The way things are going, it might not be too long before I no longer have the right to share my opinion and tell you that I think the people who are in charge of this country right now are a bunch of blithering idiots and it’s truly surprising to me that they have the mental acuity to open a box of Ritz Crackerfuls without causing themselves grievous injury.

E3 2013 Will Be Here In 5 Months – What Would You Like To See?

I suck at graphic design but you get the idea!

So, we all remember the tons of fun we had at E3 2012 and now we’re scant months away from E3 2013. Last year was our first year at E3, as a group, so we spent a lot of time trying to figure out scheduling and organization and not so much time being as productive as we could have been. Going in to this year, we’re already a lot more organized and are prepped up to bring you guys a lot more news and information from the biggest gaming expo in the world and now, we’re asking for YOUR input.
