That’s right, folks, Sony Online Entertainment has announced and confirmed that tomorrow, Friday the 21st 2012 will kick off a double XP weekend for Planetside 2 and will also be giving users triple Station Cash.

Not THAT Scary Movie…An ACTUAL scary movie…that will scare me!
I have a problem. I can’t seem to find a scary movie that’s worth watching, these days.
Sure, we have the Paranormal Activity series but those movies suck. Then we have all of the the various zombie movies and some of those are good but I’ve seen all the ones that are good…and most of the ones that really suck.
What am I supposed to do, damnit?!

I’m not sure where this whole thing started but I do know that the big stink started up with the announcement that Diablo 3 was going to require an internet connection in order to play. Now we have been informed that the new Sim City title is also going to require an internet connection to play and people are throwing a huge fit about it already.

Yep…that’s right Mr. Shooter. You’re a moron.
I’m going to be honest, here…This is a hot subject for me for a number of reasons. I’m not going to talk about all of those reasons but I am going to talk about the one which is the most inflammatory to me.
Throughout the last several years, we’ve had a number of shootings in very public places. From schools to malls to movie theaters, it seems that the people who commit these cowardly acts are getting more and more bold and trying to beat one another out for the title of “biggest asshole”.
And that, my friends, is the problem.

Turtle Beach sent us a couple of their headsets – The Sierra and the Tango – for testing and review. We got ahold of them just over a week ago and have put them through the paces, in a pretty serious way. From analyzing them on various testing equipment through using them to play various games and watch movies, we ran them around in circles.
Here’s what I thought of the Sierra.

FBI Director Missing? That can’t be good!
I’m really not sure what the hell is going on here but we got a press release from the Boston Oracle, today, talking about the disappearance of the FBI Director from Boston, Mass., Madison Davies.
The release has a number of links which all point to various Facebook pages, seemingly to those of people and places which are covered in the release…Clues, perhaps?
All in all, the whole thing is quite mysterious so we’ve gone ahead and included the entire release so all of you can dig in and maybe help us figure out what is happening.
Holy Patch Notes! Planetside 2 Gets “Game Update 1”
Big, BIG patch incoming.
Planetside 2 got a massive update today, in the form of a big patch which went live at 0600 PST.
I’m not going to lead this off with a whole lot of hoo-ha or make a big deal about leading in to the patch notes. I’m just going to say “read on, you’ll be a while”.

Man, oh man. I was doing some research today and got a look at all of the MMO’s that are coming up in the near future…When I took stock of everything that’s happening in the Massively Multiplayer Online world, I have to admit that I got a little happy and a little sad at the same time.
Boy, there’s a lot coming up . Unfortunately that means that there’s going to be some losers out there and that kinda sucks.

We all love getting some xp for doing things in game. Whether it’s killing mobs or solving puzzles or completing quests or shooting people in the face, there’s not much most of us like more in games than getting those sweet, sweet experience points which allow us to level up and build our characters into more formidable killing machines. Even with our love for XP in games, though, I can name one thing off the top of my head that’s sweeter than any XP you’ll ever taste.

Video Gaming “Addiction” A Mental Disorder?

The American Psychiatric Institute (APA) had been considering, based on a vote by the American Medical Association (AMA), including video gaming addiction in their updated version of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorder (DSM – V, being released this year). They have also considered including “IAD” or “Internet Addiction Disorder” in their new release of the manual.
So…what’s up with that?
