Chris Roberts’ Star Citizen Crowd Funding Finishes At Over $6M
OMG SPACESHIPS!!!11ONE
A few weeks ago, I wrote about Chris Roberts’ upcoming space sim “Star Citizen” and again a couple of days ago I wrote about the idea of getting back in to a space sim got me so amped up that I’d been sucked back in to X3:Albion Prelude. Well, as of this afternoon Chris Roberts site, robertsspaceindustries.com, has stopped accepting crowd funding and has announced their total.
X3: Albion Prelude…Why Can’t I Quit You?
It’s like crack, only without the rotten teeth and pants pooping.
So…a while back I wrote an article about Star Citizen, the upcoming space sim from Chris Roberts. After reading about Star Citizen and then watching a bunch of videos on the subject, I got the space-sim jibs and needed to play one so I fired up X3: Albion Prelude again.
Why, oh WHY did I do that?!
Why Is BioWare Spamming Me With Offers For SWTOR?
Mike Ditka’s gonna kick your ass…srsly.
If you followed my coverage of Star Wars: The Old Republic for any amount of time you’ll know a few things about the game. You’ll know that I played it, you’ll know that I gave it a really good score, pre-launch, and you’ll know that within a couple of months the 9 I gave it turned in to a 3 because they couldn’t manage their game at all.
You’ll also know that I quit playing the game, predicted it would go free to play and then, in very short order, it did so.
So why are they spamming me with emails?
Tom Hardy To Play Sam Fisher In Splinter Cell Movie
You’d better not hose this up, Hardy!
Righteous indignation. This is the best way I can describe what I felt when I learned at E3 that Michael Ironside would not be voicing Sam Fisher in the latest Splinter Cell game. Seething nerd rage is what I felt when I found out why…
Because they needed someone young and fit for the role because they needed to do mo-cap. WHAT?! You’re not mocapping his voice, you slack-jawed morons!
Now, I am hearing he’ll have nothing to do with the film, either? Wow.
Doomsday Preppers Game Releases For iOS
This guy is ready for his closeup!
A while ago, I wrote an article about the upcoming second season of the National Geographic show “Doomsday Preppers”, which shows many of the preparations people have gone through in the interest of protecting themselves from, and preparing for, the end of the world as we know it.
From nuclear war to EMP attack to a global economic meltdown, these folks are preparing for ANY contingency and now you can too with the release of the Doomsday Preppers game for iPhone and iPad.
Next Mass Effect To Use The Frostbite Engine
BioWare changing to the Frostbite engine? Yeah, that’s cool…
We’ve known for some time now that a fourth (and likely fifth and beyond) Mass Effect game is in the works. We’ve also known for quite some time that the new game is going to be developed at BioWare’s Edmonton studio. What we’re just finding out though is that this title is going to be developed with a completely different engine. No more Unreal Engine 3, kiddies!
5 Things I Love About The Japanese
Like a bazaar, only more modernerer.
Oh, those crazy Japanese.
They’ve brought us things like ramen noodles, Blu-ray, Hello Kitty and Mario. I don’t think many Americans realize the impact the Japanese have had on our culture in the last 40 years or so and will likely continue to have over the next 40. I’ve been a big fan of Japan of Japanese culture for a long time, though and now I’m going to share with you 5 of my favorite things which have been introduced to us by our brothers and sisters across the Pacific.
The Art Of Video Games – Heading to EMP In February 2013
Art inside of art. How artsy!
A while back, we wrote about the art of video games and revealed that it would be leaving The Smithsonian and traveling the country – moving from museum to museum over the next several years. Now, we’ve been told that it will be at EMP, starting in Feb of 2013.
Planetside 2 Items – Station Cash Purchase Prices Announced? Pay To Win?
mmmmmm…Tasty Sidegrades!
Prices, yes. Pay to win? We’ll talk about that, too. This morning, John Smedley had a chat with a few people on twitter regarding the pricing tiers for buying items in their upcoming free-to-play MMOFPS Planetside 2. In that chat he revealed that there will be pricing tiers based (presumably) on the type of item, similar to the different cert-point tiers for unlocking those items with cert points.
